Hi I went in April to a hospital in the UK as I was advised by my Gp to go for screening for the breast cancer gene….having gone for the appointment I was told my mum had a rare brain tumour and had the Li-fraumeni gene….I had the blood test the middle of April 2014 and we are now 2 months later and I have yet to receive the results….I was advised that they couldn’t give me a time frame….I was seeing if anyone else had experience of these tests and how long they waited for results….again it’s in the UK as I know different countries have different processes. …Thanks

I wouldn’t think you’d have to wait that much longer now. The average seems to be around 12 weeks in the UK. Fingers crossed you don’t have the mutated version of the TP53 gene. But if you do, welcome aboard, you’re not alone…

    Best wishes,

    Pan

Thanks for your help. I was told that my tests where the 2nd batch sent from Oxford Radcliffe genetics dept and they where unsure of time scale for results. Dread the phone ringing .
Thanks for info nice to know there are others who can help with questions.

    Thanks
    Louise
